Purdie Pascoe Ltd and its affiliate Purdie Pascoe US Inc. (from this point forward referred to as “Purdie Pascoe”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is an independent market research agency that conducts surveys on behalf of medical technology, pharmaceutical, and precision medicine and diagnostic companies (our clients). These surveys may be conducted face to face, over the telephone or online.

Purdie Pascoe’s business is structured under two main divisions:
Primary Market Research (PMR)
Post Market Clinical Follow up (PMCF)
Where data is collected for our own purposes, Purdie Pascoe acts as the Data Controller.
Some clients also deem us to be Joint Data Controllers for research projects.
Data Processor
Purdie Pascoe also handle data processing on behalf of our clients, who typically serve as data controllers for these activities. When acting as a processor, we strictly process personal data in line with the controller’s documented instructions, as outlined in data agreements or contractual arrangements.

Sensitive Personal Data
“Sensitive” or “special category” personal data includes racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, health data, and sexual orientation.
During the course of research activities among consumers or patients and only with your explicit consent, we may collect special category (sensitive) personal data related to your health in order to meet the survey objectives. We will only do this where we have obtained your explicit consent.

Purdie Pascoe will only use your personal data in cases where we have a legal basis to do so.

Business
Website Operations / Analysis of site usage / Website marketing – Your IP address and other device and operating system specifications are obtained. Consent is acquired through our cookie declaration, which can be changed at any time.
Providing you with information or to respond to your enquiries. This includes name, contact details, and any other information provided within the enquiry. We will have your consent or determine that we have a legitimate interest in using your details to provide you with relevant information.
Sales and marketing. This includes name and contact details, and any information relating to your relationship with Purdie Pascoe. We will have your consent or determine that we have a legitimate interest in using your details to provide you with relevant information.
Research
Dealing with enquiries and requests submitted to us via mail, e-mail, phone or our website.
Conducting market research or PMCF survey for which we or our partner fieldwork agency have obtained your explicit consent. Prior to collecting information from you, we provide you with full details of the purpose and nature of the project and what will happen to the information we collect. The information that you provide will remain confidential and will be analysed and combined with data provided by other respondents for reporting purposes. No information that could identify you is passed on to the commissioning client, unless you have given your explicit consent for us to do so.
We may use your anonymised personal information in an AI tool (please see “Use of AI” for detailed information) to help with question recommendations within our surveys, or for data profiling purposes.
We will inform you of any profiling activities and their purposes at the time of data collection, and where required, explicit consent shall be obtained. You will always have the right to object to any such profiling.

Keeping Personal Data secure
Purdie Pascoe has put in place physical and technical safeguards to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Personal data stored electronically is stored on a secure network with anti-virus protection. Access to our electronic data files requires user authentication via password or similar means. We use secure encryption technology to protect electronic devices and your personal data whilst at rest and during any transmission to third parties.
We limit access to any physical records containing your personal data to members of staff whom we reasonably believe need that information to provide our services to our clients.
We train our staff on data protection and information governance, and the need to adhere to the relevant policies and procedures.
We manage data protection with third party suppliers with contracts and security reviews.
International transfers
If your personal data is transferred, stored, or processed outside your country or territory, and that location does not meet recognised data protection standards, we will implement additional safeguards as required by law to protect your data. For instance, if you are in the EEA, we will use standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission along with other appropriate protective measures when processing data outside the EEA. Where legally required, we will also seek your consent for such transfers in line with this notice and any additional information provided to you separately.
How long we keep your Personal Data
Business
We keep your personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which we are using it, in adherence with our legal and regulatory obligations.
Research
We have a data retention period of two years for all personal data collected via research studies, unless otherwise specified by our client.
Disclosure of your information
Dependent on the reason for interaction with Purdie Pascoe, we may share your personal data (including your sensitive personal data) with vendors assisting with research recruitment, marketing automation and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and quality checks and fraud prevention. Categories of personal data shared with these vendors would typically be, but may not be limited to, your name, email address, postal address, phone number, cookie ID, IP address and the information you submit in our research surveys (respondent specific).
Purdie Pascoe and our third-party data partners are all contractually bound to keep any information they collect and disclose to us, or that we collect and disclose to them, confidential and must protect it with security standards and practices that are equivalent to our own.
We are required by commissioning client companies and regulatory bodies to pass on details of adverse events / product complaints relating to any of the client’s products mentioned during the course of research interviews. This is solely for the purpose of meeting the client’s drug / product safety obligations to the regulatory authorities. If an adverse event or product complaint is mentioned, you will be asked at the end of the interview if you consent to us sharing your contact details with the client’s pharmacovigilance department so that they can follow up with you if required. If you do not consent to us sharing your contact details for this purpose, we will simply report the adverse event / product complaint anonymously. Please be aware that the processing of the adverse event / product complaint data may take place outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the country where the interview took place.
We do not sell your personal data and never have.
Use of AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI refers to the use of computer systems, software, or applications that are designed to perform tasks that would normally require human intelligence. This includes, but is not limited to, capabilities such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, language understanding, and interaction.
We may use AI tools to assist with the provision of our services, including research analysis, translation and meeting transcription AI tools. Any AI tools we employ are used in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Research participants will never be contacted directly by Purdie Pascoe for marketing purposes.
